Day 21
One-third! How incredibly fast but unbelievably slow at the same time. Today is 21 days after ovulation. If Yara conceived the fetusses are about 5-10 millimeter in length and will grow to 14-15 millimeter in the coming week. The organs start to develop. Still the fetusses are very vulnerable. From the mating until now a lot has happened! In the video you can see an overview from the mating until day 20, yesterday. As you can see at the end of the video the fetusses are really taking shape now!
Yara still does fine. She sleeps a little bit more but she still plays with Lucy a lot too. She is still not so eager on her food. She often leaves a few bites in her bowl, wich Lucy does not mind!
Last pregnancy Yara had some brownred discharge on day 16 and 17. We have not seen that.
Yara is also weighed and measured again this week:
Gewicht | Omvang laatste rib | Omvang voor achterpoten | |
---|---|---|---|
Day 6 | 10.9 kg | 45 cm | 40.5 cm |
Day 14 | 10.9 kg | 46 cm | 41.5 cm |
Day 21 | 10.9 kg | 47 cm | 43 cm |
Her waist has gained a little, but her weight and ribs stay the same. Is she fooling us..?
On Friday, August 10th, we are going for an ultrasound to see if we can prepare for a coming litter!
It also seems her nipples are enlarged. And it looks like her milk glands are starting to swell a bit.
